Cody & Felicia: The Beginning of Forever

Back on April 30th, I was lucky enough to photograph Cody and Felicia's wedding at Antioch PFWB in Erwin and their reception at Chicora. The ceremony was beautiful, warm, and welcoming, and Felicia made a really beautiful bride, but not just because she was dressed up with her hair and makeup done in a lovely dress. She was just so happy. The kind of happy that radiates.

To preface the rest of this blog, let me start by saying that I've known Felicia (I'll be referring to her as Feli, pronounced Fee-Lee, for the remainder of our time together) for a little over three years and I found out the day of the wedding that my husband has known the groom for about 12 years. Isn't it funny how small small towns really are? Anyway...
I took a lot of photos (per usual), almost all of which included Cody's amazing smile. See the photo below for an example:

Great, right? Continuing on, to say this day was a good day is a complete understatement. Friends (and some family) of mine and my husband's were there to celebrate with Cody and Feli on their big day. There were so many smiles, tears, hugs, and laughs shared and I really consider myself lucky to have been a part of it.

Their wedding cake was made by our resident baker and chef extraordinaire, Mrs. Shirley AKA "Ma" and decorated by her sister especially for the two of them. A pretty pink icing topped a delicious orange flavored cake. It was as pretty as it was delicious!

The best part of being able to photograph their wedding was to see just how happy they are together. Second best, was seeing just how happy their family and friends were for them. From experience, I can tell you that nothing means more to a bride than having her family and friends there to support her and be genuinely happy for her and her new husband.

Congratulations, Feli and Cody! I am so happy for you and I can't wait to see what the years bring for the two of you!
